How to join and FAQ

If you are an artist or maker and you live in Sunriver, or the Southern Deschutes County area you are welcome!  

Artists and Makers who paint, make jewelry, pottery, photography, wood workers, metal workers, bakers, snack makers, fiber artists, seamstresses, macrame, pottery & clay, glass artists, leather workers, furniture makers, soap personal care items, are all examples.  I'm sure there are many more things I am not thinking of.  Basically if you make it or create it, this is the place for you.

The cost to join is $15.00.  I'm not doing this to make money, just to recover costs of the website and any advertising that we do.  Once the cost of the website is covered, I will be purchasing business cards to be displayed at local businesses and for members to have and give out.  If there is more funds available, we can think about advertising in the Sunriver Scene monthly magazine.

Payment can be made by cash or check in person at our store, Houser House Creations in the Sunriver Business Park (across from Camp Abbot Ace).  Or via Venmo or PayPal if you wish to pay by card.  Contact me for my payment ID.

I will need to know the following information:

• Business name (if you have one) or just your name is fine.
• Conact name or names as you want listed on the website.
• Address (if you want it listed on the website).
• Area or City you are located (if you don't want your address)
• Email address (if you want it listed on the website).
• Phone number where potential customers can reach you.
• All of your internet presences where people can find you, such as your website, Etsy site, Ebay site, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.
• A brief paragraph about what you make or what you do.  Keep it brief at about 5 sentences.  People can get more information when they either contact you or visit your internet presences.
• A photograph of what you do that best shows your product or service in .jpg form cropped into square shape.  If you need help cropping it, just let me know.

I will advertise the website on social media sites, such as Instagram, Facebook and the NextDoor app.  I also strongly encourage members to also advertise as well on their social media accounts.

I also plan to have business cards made and will be in contact with local Sunriver businesses to have the cards with a small display. If there are funds available, we can advertise in the Sunriver Scene publication.

I am also working with the Sunriver Area Chamber of Commerce and they will also help us advertise and promote.

My name is Vivian Houser and my husband Chris and I have a store in Sunriver, Oregon where we sell our own handmade items as well as items from local makers and creators.

I am creating and managing this website to help other local artists and makers in our area have a way to be found by our neighbors and beyond.

I work a part time job in Bend in a doctors office, as well as work in our store and also work to create the items that we sell.  I am doing this in my "spare time" which is limited - but I feel passionate about helping others be successful in their art and business.  I will be working on the website on Wednesdays thru Saturdays when I have time.  So be patient with me.
